JOB SUMMARY

The Maintenance Lead would work alongside the Operations, Production, and Engineering teams and is responsible for minimizing unplanned downtime of equipment in Farther Farms’ French fry processing facility.  The individual would conduct routine maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and mechanical equipment, and calibrate, program, and install instrumentation.

 

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Downtime of Farther Farms’ processing facility is minimized with preventative maintenance and speedy troubleshooting;

  • All work is done safely and in accordance with OSHA and company GMPs;

  • All databases and logs are up-to-date and accurate.

 

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance related experience;

  • Experience in manufacturing and food manufacturing preferred;

  • Strong background in electrical and mechanical principles;

  • Candidate must be mechanically skilled and able to handle some mechanical maintenance jobs;

  • Experience with PLC, AC/DC motors, drives, controls, electrical switchgear, and 480-volt three-phase power distribution and starters.

  • Working knowledge of NEC code, 70E, its interpretation and implementation;

  • Ability to communicate (both written and verbal) complex and/or technical operations and procedures in terms easily understood by non-technical operators;

  • Minimum of an associate degree in electronics, mechanics or a related field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and adhere to company safety work rules, regulations, OSHA, HAACP, and GMPs;

  • Conduct preventative maintenance on all equipment;

  • Use tools and instruments to operate, repair, adjust, troubleshoot, install, and fabricate mechanical, electronic, and electromechanical equipment;

  • When required, remove electrical and mechanical devices, using material handling devices, repair the devices and re-install repaired/new devices safely following NEC code practices and OSHA regulations;

  • Troubleshoot PLC’s and PC’s;

  • Properly clean up repair area to prevent contamination and product damage;

  • Accurately complete required reports and records;

  • Understand the concepts and participate in the techniques of the quality process and personnel safety;

  • Provide feedback for engineers to help modify existing equipment and improve the design of future equipment;

  • Respond to trouble calls quickly and communicate any problems or changes in production or quality to appropriate personnel.

 

COMPENSATION AND POSITION DETAILS

This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.  Compensation commensurate with experience.
