JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Engineering Associate would assist in the development and operations of our pilot French fry manufacturing facility.  For the right candidate, the position would have a range of responsibilities including management of civil projects and participation in process development from bench-top to larger-scale commercialization.  The individual would work in symbiosis with the Operations and R&D teams, bridging the gap between early stage concepts and commercial-scale implementation.

  • The pilot plant and its equipment are continually optimized and improved for cost, efficiency, and long-term company strategy;

  • You lead civil and capital projects, overseeing internal and external parties with organization and well-directed communication;

  • You flow seamlessly between the research lab, operations facility, engineering team, and business team, collaborating effectively with a holistic understanding of commercialization from bench-top to manufacturing production.

SELECTION CRITERIA

  • 3+ years of manufacturing, engineering, or related experience;

  • A multidisciplinary knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and chemical engineering principles;

  • A creative, entrepreneurial, collaborative work style;

  • A Master’s degree or higher in engineering is required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations:

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all manufacturing operations, end-products, raw materials, packaging materials, and quality specifications and standards;

  • Lead optimization of processes for cost, efficiency, strategy, and essential attributes;

  • Collaborate with the Operations and Quality teams to build new processes and make improvements and modifications to existing processes in the manufacturing facility;

  • Assist with production trial runs on the production line, making improvements and modifications as needed.

  • Aid in writing LOTO equipment procedures, SOPs, and SSOPs;

  • Assist the QA/Process Engineer Associate with ideation and design building for machinery for the production line;

  • Assist the QA/Process Engineer Associate with maintaining equipment to ensure line efficiency, improving key performance indicators to eliminate down time;

  • Seek out and identify areas for equipment-based improvement for the production line followed by developing actionable strategies to address.

Capital and Civil Projects:

  • Develop detailed proposals and cost estimates for outsourced contractual projects, and identify external partners for such contractual work;

  • Review, approve, modify and oversee the progress of the engineering projects with the external contractors;

  • Assist with the development of civil projects;

  • Move initiatives forward using project management process;

  • Act as the brand ambassador for the company, interfacing with potential clients to answer queries about the production line and technological capability.

R&D:

  • Use disruptive thinking to challenge the status quo, assist the CTO and R&D teams to devise action plans to address the hurdles associated with scaling-up technologies in research stage.

 

COMPENSATION AND POSITION DETAILS

This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.  Compensation commensurate with experience.
